Hi! I’m Claire and I’m glad you’re here!

Prior to my current role at Science for America, I was a founding employee at Biobot Analytics, a startup transforming sewers into public health observatories. While there, we grew from 5 to 150+ employees and I built our 20-ish-person data science team from the ground up. As my first job out of grad school, I learned a lot and realized just how little I preparation I had going into the journey. In this newsletter, I’ll be writing about that experience to help me process and hopefully help others along the way. As a data scientist, you may also find a smattering of personal data science analyses here and there as well.

You can learn more about me and read my pre-Substack posts on my website.
